Feb 23 2012 - 12:04

Last month the Bulgarian customs officials at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Turkish border seized 2,088 children’s soccer jerseys bearing the logo of FC Barcelona and the name and number of the club’s popular soccer player Lionel Messi.

The fake jerseys were found in a truck with Turkish license plates traveling from Turkey to Germany, two weeks after Messi won the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) Golden Ball award as soccer’s best player in 2011.

The customs officials at the same checkpoint also recently seized 158 eaux de toilette and perfumes after discovering them in the luggage of a Turkish citizen, traveling by bus from Turkey to Montenegro, as well as 91 eaux de toilette bearing the Armani and Lacoste marks, after discovering them in the luggage of a Bulgarian citizen.
