Ukraine Bans Tobacco Advertising

On September 16, 2012, the law that prohibits advertising, sponsorship and promotion of tobacco products entered into force in Ukraine.

The law bans advertising of tobacco products, including trademarks and other intellectual property rights related to tobacco products through all types of advertising channels, including the Internet, radio, television, print media, outdoor advertising media and various shops and outlets.

The penalty for violating this law is a fine in the range of approximately EUR 2,800-4,700 (USD 3,700-6,200).
