Bulgarian Authorities Prevent Unlicensed Software Dissemination

May 29 2012 - 14:30

The Bulgarian authorities, in cooperation with the Business Software Alliance (BSA) representatives, recently discovered and seized a pre-assembled computer with unlicensed software, the copyrights of which belonged to the BSA member companies.

The seizure was made during an inspection of a company specialized in assembling computers from the city of Pazardjik, southern Bulgaria. The company was not able to present documents showing the software had been legally acquired. Pre-trial criminal proceedings have been initiated under the Article 172a of the Bulgarian Penal Code.
