Bulgarian Customs Seize Fake Shoes, Apparel, Perfumes

Bulgarian customs officials have recently seized considerable quantities of fake apparel, footwear and perfumes bearing the logos of well-known brands, believed to be counterfeit.

The customs officials in Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria, seized 378 pairs of shoes and 44 shirts and blouses bearing the mark of Polo Ralph Lauren. The fake items were seized during an inspection of a truck travelling from Turkey to Bulgaria.

The officials at Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point, southern Bulgaria, seized 2,071 perfumes, 950 textile products (sportswear, pants, T-shirts) and 674 pairs of sneakers bearing the logos of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Versace, Gucci, Adidas, Nike, Armani, Philipp Plein, Dsquared, Diesel, D&G and Tommy Hilfiger, among others. The fake goods were discovered during inspections of two buses travelling from Turkey to Bulgaria.

The officials at Malko Tarnovo border crossing point, southeastern Bulgaria, seized 197 bottles of counterfeit perfumes bearing the logos of Chanel, Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci, Lancome and Kenzo, among others. The perfumes were discovered during inspections of a car with Romanian license plates and a bus traveling from Turkey to Bulgaria.

Finally, the customs officials in the city of Ruse, located in the northeastern part of the country, seized more than 150 pairs of sneakers bearing the logos of Adidas, New Balance and Nike. The fake goods were seized while inspecting a bus traveling from Turkey to Romania.
