Fake Apparel, Sneakers, Accessories Destroyed in Serbia

On August 22 and August 29, 2017, a PETOŠEVIĆ Serbia representative and local customs authorities witnessed the destruction of various goods found to infringe the Nike®, Converse®, FC Barcelona®, Prada® and Hermès® trademarks.

The goods, which were destroyed in the town of Kruševac in central Serbia, included:

• 196 belts infringing the Hermès® trademark;

• 192 bags and 35 T-shirts infringing the Prada® trademark;

• 700 shoe pads, 350 pieces of packaging, 102 sweatpants and 9 T-shirts infringing the Converse® trademark;

• 738 jersey and shorts sets, 400 jerseys, 54 shorts and 20 kilograms of branded fabric infringing the FC Barcelona® trademark; and

• the following goods infringing the Nike® trademark:

• 5,970 pairs of socks;
• 2,203 T-shirts;
• 1,984 sweatpants;
• 1,000 sweat suits;
• 993 shorts;
• 668 pairs of sneakers;
• 460 jersey and shorts sets;
• 100 leggings;
• 69 sweatshirts;
• 15 vests;
• 11 jackets; and
• 9 caps.

The counterfeits were seized in the time period 2006-2017. Most of them originated in China and Turkey and were intended for companies in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The goods were stored in customs warehouses in the towns of Kraljevo, in central Serbia, and Dimitrovgrad, in the southeast of the country.
