Last month the Serbian customs and police authorities discovered and seized considerable quantities of counterfeit apparel, footwear and accessories in an apartment in Cuprija, a town in central Serbia.

The smuggled, counterfeit goods, worth approximately EUR 17,000 (USD 23,000), originated in China and Turkey and were reportedly advertised and sold over the Internet and shipped via express mail.

The goods bore well-known marks including Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and Louis Vuitton.

Further investigation is in progress and criminal charges will be filed against the infringer.
