PETOŠEVIĆ Russia Assists in Fake Car Lamp Crackdown

Feb 1 2018 - 12:40

In December 2017, during the raid of a warehouse in Krasnoye Selo near St. Petersburg, Russian police officials discovered and seized approximately 500,000 various car lamps and one million empty packages infringing several trademarks, including that of German lighting manufacturer OSRAM GmbH.

PETOŠEVIĆ Russia assisted in the long-lasting investigation that started after leading Russian car part distributors began receiving offers for car lamps carrying leading brand names at significantly discounted rates. The infringers were operating through a large group of companies and shell companies, which is why it took several months to identify them, collect evidence and find the warehouse’s location. The investigation has shown that the raided warehouse and several other manufacturing sites covering an area of more than 1,000 square meters were used for large-scale production of counterfeit car lamps since 2014.

The police have initiated administrative proceedings against the infringers.
