Slovenian Customs Detain EUR 1.5 million Worth of Counterfeits in 2025

The Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia has published its Annual Report for 2025, reporting that the Slovenian customs authorities detained 82,128 fake items in 936 separate instances, valued at around EUR 1.47 million. This marks an increase in the number of detained items compared to 2024, when 51,982 items were seized in 777 instances. However, their estimated value declined from EUR 2.5 million in 2024 to EUR 1.5 million in 2025.

According to the report, clothing and footwear were among the most frequently detained counterfeits in Slovenia, along with fashion accessories, audio and video equipment, mobile phone parts, and toys.

A significant share of counterfeit items entered Slovenia through sea shipments and postal deliveries originating from China, Hong Kong, and Turkey. Goods transported by sea were largely intended for recipients in other European Union countries, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia, while items arriving by mail were typically addressed to recipients in Slovenia and were mostly ordered online.

Most of the seized counterfeits were destroyed under the supervision of customs authorities.
