Ukrainian Authorities Shut Down Production of Fake Household Chemicals

Jul 14 2023 - 13:02

The Ukrainian Economic Security Bureau has recently shut down a large-scale production of counterfeit household chemicals in the Odessa region in southern Ukraine.

During the raids, the authorities seized more than 18,000 liters of detergent and 510 kg of powder and other raw materials used for detergent production. The authorities also seized more than 40,000 packaging items, including those bearing the trademarks of well-known household brands. The seized products, materials and equipment are estimated to be worth approximately EUR 1.3 million.

An organized criminal group carried out a full cycle of production and distribution of these counterfeit household chemicals, which were sold by retailers and wholesalers through online and offline channels throughout the Odessa region.
