Murad Sabirov

  • Associate

Murad’s practice focuses on trademark and patent prosecution. He mostly handles trademark and patent registrations and renewals, drafts agreements and other legal documents and prepares search reports.

Murad has recently assisted with multiple trademark registrations, renewals and assignments for a multinational technology company and with advising the company on various contentious cases in Uzbekistan. He has also advised a leading apparel company on filing and prosecution of a trademark application in Uzbekistan, as well as on possible legal actions against a national trademark registration that is in conflict with a prior trademark registration in Uzbekistan. Murad has also assisted with multiple provisional refusals against another client’s international trademark registrations in Uzbekistan by arguing distinctiveness of trademarks. Murad also assisted the Uzbekistan team with handling several trademark enforcement cases on behalf of a multinational consumer goods company against local infringers, before the Antimonopoly Committee of Uzbekistan, commercial and administrative courts, IPO, and the Agency for Consumer Protection.

Prior to joining PETOŠEVIĆ in 2020, Murad worked at an Uzbek IP firm for five years, where he also handled trademark and patent prosecution and advised clients on all aspects of trademark and patent protection.
