Q&A

Igor handles various contentious and non-contentious IP matters in Ukraine, Azerbaijan and other countries in the region, with an emphasis on trademark prosecution and enforcement. He advises clients on IP protection and enforcement strategies and assists with issues in the advertisement, media and regulatory spheres. Igor reviews agreements, handles out-of-court dispute settlements through cease and desist letters or negotiations, and manages license and IP rights assignments. He represents clients before the Ukrainian Intellectual Property Office in various proceedings, including oppositions and well-known status recognition. He also handles anti-counterfeiting and customs enforcement activities in Ukraine.

Igor is also well versed in domain name dispute resolution, particularly under the UDRP and its variations. He advises and represents clients from various industries in domain name disputes before relevant bodies, including the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center. In 2021, Igor was appointed to serve as an arbiter in disputes under the UA-DRP, the Ukrainian variation of the UDRP.

Igor also helped establish PETOŠEVIĆ’s newest office in Azerbaijan where he handles various organizational tasks as well as prosecution and enforcement of IP rights.

Prior to joining PETOŠEVIĆ in 2018, Igor worked at another intellectual property law firm in Kyiv for six years, where he focused mostly on IP rights enforcement and domain name prosecution.
