Albania Copyright Office Project
In February 2012, PETOŠEVIĆ participated in the completion of a EuropeAid funded project where it provided technical assistance for the strengthening and enforcement of the capacities of the Albania Copyright Office.
The overall objective of this contract has been to improve the enforcement of copyright and neighbouring rights in Albania so as to contribute to the fulfilment of the conditions of the Stability and Association Agreement (SAA).
The project’s purpose has been:
- To strengthen the operational capacity of the Albanian Copyright Office by supporting its staff in carrying out its competencies efficiently by improving its capacities to implement current laws, and by improving the cooperation with other stakeholders;
- To ensure legal approximation with EU standards and best practices; and to build awareness on copyrights and neighbouring rights amongst the users of protected works.
PETOŠEVIĆ participated in facilitating fact-finding in Albania to provide up-to-date information and status quo of IP protection in Albania (policies, legislations, authorities) and provided input in the drafting of the technical offer with an overview of the legal framework and topics in IP issues. PETOŠEVIĆ also worked on the compilation of a ‘Copyright Training Manual’ on the basis of the training program carried out by the Project to ensure sustainability in further Albanian Copyright Office training activities, and participated in the overall implementation of the project.
