
With engineering degrees in organic chemistry, Olya’s practice focuses on patent prosecution before the Bulgarian Patent Office, the EPO and WIPO. She also handles utility model prosecution, supplementary protection certificates (SPCs) and European patent (EP) validations. Olya drafts and prepares applications and handles translations, searches, filings, office actions, registrations, recordations and renewals. She also consults and supports clients in patent and SPC invalidation.
Before joining PETOŠEVIĆ in 2022, Olya worked at the Bulgarian Patent Office for 20 years, where she started as a patent examiner and was appointed in 2014 as the Director of the Directorate responsible for patent, utility model, EP and PCT applications, EP validations, plant varieties, animal breeds, topologies of integrated circuits and other related IP matters. Olya also has 10 years of experience as a researcher at the Chemical Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Sofia, working in the development of pharmaceutical products and oral hygienic compositions.
