Aliya’s practice covers all areas of intellectual property law, with a particular focus on patent, design and trademark prosecution and enforcement. She advises our clients on all aspects of IP rights protection in Kazakhstan and represents them before the Kazakh IPO, as well as before customs, courts and other state authorities.

Prior to joining PETOŠEVIĆ in 2020, Aliya worked as an IP manager at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan for seven years, where she advised scientists on protecting their inventions and drafted policies and regulations regarding the management of the university’s IP portfolio. Aliya also worked as an IP lawyer in the Almaty and London offices of an international law firm where she advised local and international clients on IP protection strategies. She has also provided pro bono IP services to numerous startups in Kazakhstan.
