Corporate Social Responsibility

We strive to positively impact the global and local community in which we work and live by providing services on a pro-bono basis to those in need, raising awareness about intellectual property protection, supporting charities, and participating in volunteer work as active members of several trade organizations.

Pro Bono & Volunteering

Lawyers in all PETOŠEVIĆ offices do pro bono work that is meaningful and supports those in need, such as charities and NGOs. We also participate in volunteer work as active members of several trade organizations, including the International Trademark Association (INTA), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the European Patent Institute (EPI) and MARQUES the Association of European Trade Mark Owners. For years, at each INTA annual meeting, PETOŠEVIĆ Executive Chairman and CEO Slobodan Petošević has presented a lecture on trademark law in Eastern Europe and former USSR as part of the INTA’s Academic Course on International Trademark Law.

IP Education & Awareness

PETOŠEVIĆ representatives regularly present at educational seminars for local customs officials and market inspectors. They share useful information, examples and tips on how to recognize counterfeit products to help the authorities in their fight against counterfeit goods.

Our IP professionals have also taken an active role in raising awareness and increasing knowledge of IP among university and high school students. In November 2017, our Slovenia office lawyers spoke to high school students of the Žiga Zois Slovenian high school from Trieste, Italy about the basics of intellectual property law and the role of IP firms. In July 2017, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest, PETOŠEVIĆ Romania Head of Office Aura Campeanu held a presentation on the basics of trademark law to a group of students from various countries attending the Network for International Law Students (NILS) Summer School.

Donations & Social Welfare Activities

We support several charities and fund-raising activities each year. For years, PETOŠEVIĆ Serbia has made regular donations to two local humanitarian organizations that help children in need – Radost Deci (Joy for Children) and Prijatelj u nevolji (Friend in Need). PETOŠEVIĆ Serbia has also donated to the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR), a nonprofit organization for supporting children with cancer and their families.

Environment Matters

Having in mind the state of the environment and Earth’s limited natural resources, we try to minimize our impact by reducing the use of paper and implementing environmentally friendly practices among our employees.

For over 10 years we have been going paperless through our internal website, a central place for producing, sharing, updating and consuming information. Through our internal website, we publish and update a large number of changing documents, as well as company policies, directories, fee schedules, laws, etc.

We have also developed, over the course of 15 years, a single customized database with digitized clients’ archives. All our employees log into the central database via the Internet from wherever they are.

We have also introduced electronic holiday cards for clients and the use of electronic billing to accomplish our goal of becoming a paper free company.

Supporting Artists

We support artists by buying their artwork and by collaborating with them on our creative projects including electronic holiday cards, client gifts, website photography, web design projects and company video presentations.
