Romanian Customs Seize EUR 1 M Worth of Counterfeits

In the period February 25 — March 12, the Romanian customs officials seized over 26,250 items believed to be counterfeit, the total value of which exceeds EUR 1 million (USD 1.3 million).
The seized goods include:
- 5,900 bracelets bearing the Power Balance mark
- 1,600 sets of toys bearing the Star Wars mark
- 7,120 fishing reels bearing the Cobra mark
- 600 electric brooms bearing the Swivel Sweeper mark
- 3,600 ceramic mugs bearing the Nescafe mark
- 4,200 hair accessories bearing the Hello Kitty mark
- 3,230 ceramic sets (cups and plates) bearing the Versace mark
- Plush toys, stickers, pens, rucksacks, balls, playing cards, umbrellas, plastic bags and toy telephones bearing the Smurfs, Disney, Angry Birds, Hello Kitty, Thomas and Barbie marks
- Toy cars, chairs and stickers bearing the Disney and Strawberry Shortcake marks
The seizures were made at the port of Constanta, eastern Romania. The goods originated in China and were intended for the Romanian market.
