We are looking for a Patent Expert to join our Ukrainian office.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting searches and analyzing scientific and/or technical documents, including previously granted patents, to assess whether an invention is new and innovative
• Translating from Russian/Ukrainian to English and vice versa
• Preparing, drafting and filing patent applications
• Preparing reports and responses to the office actions
• Ensuring application and renewal deadlines are met
• Communicating regularly with clients

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or biochemistry
• 3 years of working experience in a similar position
• Understanding of scientific and technological principles and processes
• Good command of English (both spoken and written)
• Excellent and professional command of local language (both written and verbal)
• Ability to express complex technical ideas clearly and concisely
• An eye for details and an analytical mind
• Ability to manage time and work to deadlines
• Desirable to have the status of Patent Attorney/additional education in the field of intellectual property
• Desirable to have the knowledge of Russian patent legislation and the practice of the patent office in the field of chemistry.

We are also looking for an Intellectual Property Associate to join our Ukrainian office.

Responsibilities:

• Advising clients on IP protection and enforcement strategies
• Preparing and filing writs for the courts or local administrations
• Representing clients before Courts and Enforcement authorities
• Performing and supervising investigations
• Handling Customs matters: preparing and filing applications for Customs watching, reporting seizures and handling any further actions related to seizures
• Handling oppositions, cancellation, revocation actions, or any other contentious actions before local administrations
• Responding to questionnaires and producing legal opinions for various IP forums and organizations

Requirements:

• Law School University degree
• Admission to Bar
• Capacity to represent IP right holders before the Courts and Enforcement authorities
• Excellent command of English language (both written and spoken)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Intellectual Property field
• Detail oriented
• High sense of responsibility
• Ability to work independently and manage various projects
• Good time management skills and ability to prioritize and utilize resources as available
• Strong computer skills, not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
