  • Ignacio Lazaro Speaks on Behalf of INTA at Belarus Conference on Customs Union

    PETOŠEVIĆ COO Ignacio Lazaro was invited to speak on behalf of the INTA at an anti-counterfeiting conference in Minsk, Belarus on February 19, 2013. The conference, entitled “Brand Protection in the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia: Corporate Image – Country Image” was organized by BelBrand, an industry association made up of Belarusian trademark owners. Ignacio Lazaro, who has been closely following the CU developments, gave a presentation on the common issues and challenges that IP rights owners face in Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan as a result of this relatively new union.

  • First Counterfeit Goods Destroyed in Albania

    The first destruction of counterfeit goods in Albania took place in the capital of Tirana on August 9-10, 2012. Over 1,000 items bearing the mark of the world’s leading supplier of athletic shoes and apparel and a major manufacturer of sports equipment were destroyed in the presence of trademark representatives and under the supervision of Albanian customs officials.

    On June 11, 2012, the Bosnian market inspectors, in cooperation with the police, discovered a production plant for counterfeit Adidas sneakers in the city of Banja Luka, northern Bosnia.

  • Bosnian Officials Seize Fake Nike, Reebok, Adidas Labels

    On April 21, 2011, the Customs Sector of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia informed the PETOŠEVIĆ Bosnia office that the customs authorities seized 273,838 fake labels found to infringe the intellectual property rights of Nike, Reebok and Adidas.

  • Bosnian Authorities Seize Counterfeit Massagers

    The authorities from the Customs Sector of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia have recently detained 5280 counterfeit electrical and non-electrical massagers bearing the marks of Kosmodisk Classic and Relax & Tone.
