Iana’s expertise concentrates on intellectual property law, in particular on trademark law with emphasis on the prosecution and enforcement of trademark rights. During her academic career she gained practical experience in the generic pharmaceutical sector.
Before she joined the firm, Iana was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law, Munich, writing her Ph.D. thesis on the comparison of trademark laws in West Balkan countries and their harmonization as part of the EU accession process.
